A Glimpse Through Glass

This spring, we were thrilled to be part of something truly special at the Downtown Chattanooga Public Library. The exhibit Glass from the Past, presented by Overlooked Materials in partnership with the Library’s Local History & Genealogy Department, brought together hundreds of beautiful and historic glass artifacts from industries that shaped Chattanooga’s identity.
Happy Valley Farms was honored to contribute a small display from our own history in the dairy business. Decades ago, before the horses and weddings, the farm played a central role in supplying milk to local families. Seeing our original dairy bottles included in the exhibit was both humbling and heartwarming.

The public reception, held on April 12, offered a delightful chance to connect with the community and celebrate this shared history. Guests heard from Morgan Holl, the founder and CEO of Overlooked Materials, whose passion for glass recycling and Chattanooga’s untold stories brought the exhibit to life. His team’s careful curation shined a light on the overlooked legacy of glass in our region, from the days of cola rivalries and local distilleries to dairy’s golden era.

Jim and Regina had the opportunity to look through the library archives and were touched by the craftsmanship and character of the collection. The exhibit sparked meaningful conversations and created a deeper appreciation for how far our community has come, while honoring the industries that built it.

We’re grateful to Overlooked Materials for including Happy Valley Farms and for their commitment to storytelling through sustainability. If you had a chance to visit the exhibit, we hope it sparked your curiosity too. Our past has a way of showing us who we are—and who we still might become.
